Vegan ice cream is no longer an afterthought. Scream Queens was founded in a tiny apartment kitchen in Kansas City in the summer of 2024 for a very simple reason: founder Zoe’s girlfriend wanted better vegan ice cream in better flavors. So Zoe set out to make some. Our ethos is pretty simple here at SQ: We make better vegan s’cream because we want to eat better vegan s’cream.
And Scream Queens is vegan s’cream like you’ve never tasted it before. Why? Maybe because you’ve never tried vegan ice cream. Maybe because the vegan ice cream you’ve tried was made by dairy companies. Or maybe you’ve never tasted vegan s’cream like Scream Queens vegan s’cream because you’ve never tasted Scream Queens vegan s’cream. And if you haven’t tried it, you haven’t tried anything like it.
We’re pretty proud of the magical level of creaminess we’ve achieved, and our ever-widening out-of-the-box flavor options, but don’t take our word for it. Mandy S. says she “hates vegan sh*t” but “loves this sh*t.” Bubbe Carla says Scream Queens s’cream is “entirely original.” And Zoe’s mom says it’s “SO GOOD sweetie.” Convinced yet?
One thing we love about ice cream is the way it brings people together. Whether it’s block parties, first date root beer floats, softball team away game celebrations, or I-just-got-broken-up-with postmortems with the girls, ice cream has always been something people gather around.
We’re proud to offer a local, handcrafted artisanal product that lets all kinds of people in on the fun: dairy eaters, vegans, lactose intolerants who are like “I’m just going to full-send this entire five-cheese lasagna and a glass of whole milk and deal with the consequences later,” people with Jimmy Buffett-themed basements, people who say “now let’s do a silly one” after a group photo, and most especially the people who when prompted to produce on-demand silliness go into a cold-blooded panic, and well now we’re just listing types of people.
But that’s kind of the point–we want SQ to be for you.
